New Flavors
It's almost Christmas,
Is anyone trying new recipes or traditions this year? If so, please share! Growing up, my brother Jason and I were adamant about monkey bread*
Every season comes with unique flavors. Below are a few we are experiencing right now...what about you?
Academic Flavor - Aaron has been working on a strategic foresight certificate while I completed an online military course called Air Command and Staff College.
Nonprofit Flavor - We continue to learn a lot about working with and growing non-profits. It's exciting to see my brother Peter Jr and his wife Patty pursue their dreams, and my parents continue to partner with groups that rescue and feed children across the globe.** I am also excited to now be helping with another non-profit - Military Mentors. “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something” - Max Lucado
Waiting Flavor - We have completed two years at Edwards in California and are excited to see where the Air Force sends us next. While we wait for an official assignment for a new address and mission, we also eagerly wait to become pregnant and give the doggo someone else to protect. We've had baby fever for a while, but luckily I can drop into the Child Development Center and play with little ones.
Reflecting Flavor- Our command jobs have caused us to reflect more than ever. Aaron has encouraged me to write about the crazy experiences and amazing people we serve. We can either help or learn from every person we interact with...what a privilege!
Mindset Flavor - Taking every thought captive can be difficult. Author James Clear stated: "Negative things happen. Negative mindsets make them harder."
- I'm not hurt; I'm healing.
- I'm not losing; I'm learning.
- I was not rejected; I was redirected.
Much love to you this season. Embrace the flavors!
Liz
