Caves

January 2018, I started my Doctorate in Strategic Leadership. It was a topic that intrigued me...something I wanted to deep dive. 3,360 hours of research, projects, papers, and presentations later, I realize how little I know about leadership.

Mu husband Aaron and I are honored to be in military leadership command roles and one theme is very evident...we all hurt at times. I've been praying about how I can help others as they walk through difficult times and wanted to share a few resources. Pastor Chris Hodges wrote a book on anxiety, fear, and depression and did a two-part sermon series. It made me stop to analyze my own life and gave me more empathy for those struggling. We all go into the cave. Sometimes we go after things that are obtainable, but not sustainable. Other times we face comparison or the pain of life.

As someone who loves to fix things, when I see a person hurting, my first instinct is to share resources (hence what I am doing!) However, I also am aware of the power of presence. Of letting someone know that you see them. That you are there for them and you care.

Lord, I ask anyone who reads this would be lifted up and comforted. That they would know how loved they are and would be encouraged by this prayer and information.

Blessings,

Liz
