3-2-1
I am stealing a method from James Clear who sends out a "3-2-1" newsletter.
3 ideas, 2 quotes, 1 question
Idea # 1
Consistency isn't glamorous, but it does pay off! I read Clear's book Atomic Habits and he compares consistent habits make small deposits in our bank that with time can grow exponentially. It's hard to stay encouraged as you chip away at your goals...the process isn't glamorous but it does pay off!
Idea # 2
John Maxwell talks about the power of our mindsets (another good book is by Carol Dweck). He stated we need to approach every problem with the attitude that there is a solution. In times like this, we are challenged to be creative and resilient, and this requires the right attitude and heart.
Idea # 3
You don't manage time you manage actions. David Allen talks about in his book Getting Things Done that we must always examine what we do with our time, info, and focus relative to our priorities. I know for me going into a new job, I have to remember this daily!
Quote #1
Your head is for having ideas not holding them. - David Allen (this is why I love planners and stickies!)
Quote #2
Ultimately we all have to decide for ourselves what constitutes failure, but the world is quite eager to give you a set of criteria if you let it. - JK Rowling (haters gonna hate!)
Question #1
What is one thing that has challenged you in 2020? (haha...just one!)
I hope everyone is doing well. Aaron graduated from his professional military education course and we both start new jobs (still at Langley Air Force) next week. Should be a busy, but fulfilling fall. Blessings,
Liz
